A Castlefolk village of stone and timber houses beside the sea, with squads of knights and spearmen on the grass

Castlefolk

Build. Rule. Conquer.

Build your settlement, gather resources, raise an army, and carve your kingdom out of a dangerous medieval world.

A pixel-art strategy game made with Godot 4

A kingdom, from one small settlement

  • Build your kingdom

Start with a small settlement and turn it into a thriving kingdom.

  • Gather & grow

Harvest wood, hunt for meat and mine gold to keep your people fed and working.

  • Raise your army

Recruit warriors, archers, lancers and monks, then drill them into a fighting force.

  • Defend & conquer

Fight dangerous creatures and rival kingdoms for control of the map.

What you will do

Build

Construct castles, houses, barracks, towers, monasteries and more. Every building you raise changes what your settlement can do next.

Explore

Discover forests, mountains, rivers, coastlines and dangerous wilderness. The map hides both resources and the things that guard them.

Manage

Balance population, resources, construction and military strength. Every soldier you train is a villager who stops gathering.

Fight

Command your forces in real-time battles against monsters and rival lords. Position matters as much as numbers.

Expand

Establish new settlements and push your borders outward across the coastline and into the hills.

Conquer

Turn a tiny settlement into a kingdom capable of ruling the entire world.

A world worth ruling

Castlefolk is played at kingdom scale. Beyond your walls there are forests to clear, coastlines to settle, rival lords to outgrow — and things in the wilderness that will happily eat a lone woodcutter.

The wilderness bites back

Goblins, trolls, gnolls and worse hold the ground you want. Some of them are a nuisance. Some of them end an expedition.

Know your enemy

Every creature has a bestiary entry with its stats and a little too much personality.
